Raising a generation of
grounded boys
Discipling Christian boys is important for their spiritual development and growth as followers of Christ. Intentional discipleship helps boys learn how to walk with Christ and prepares them to be of use to the church and society. It also helps counter the negative messages and influences of the world and teaches accountability, self-control, and the seriousness of sin.
The Manhood Restoration Initiative (MRI) by Aflame Mission Team is a program inspired by the desire to scan through the plight of the boy child of our time, have a clear view of their struggles and initiate empowerment programs to counter the destructive trends. We are proud to associate this initiative with The Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine-MRI because of its efficiency and effectiveness in giving clear imaging of internal organs in a way that makes it easier for doctors to diagnose complex medical issues.
Clarity of what constitutes Accurate Manhood is what is needed in our society today.
THE INSPIRATION: In one of our recent leadership training events for emerging student leaders, a girl from one of the schools that had attended the event gave striking feedback in which she expressed a lot of admiration and hope at the sight of boys passionately worshipping God without shame. That scene amazed her but also ignited hope in her that there are young men who are upright in character, God fearing and unashamed to express their love for God. What that girl saw inspired hope in her …I believe that her reaction is representative of all women who wait in hope to see MEN WHO WILL BOW IN WORSHIP BEFORE THEIR CREATOR. MEN WHO WILL NOT ABANDON THEIR POSITION, MENT WHO WILL PROVIDE FOR AND PROTECT THEIR WIVES AND CHILDREN. MEN WHO WILL BE A STANDARD TO BE EMULATED. IT IS THIS KIND OF A MAN THAT A WOMAN DESIRES.
MRI PROGRAM BY AFLAME MISSION TEAM EXISTS TO RESTORE THAT DESIRED MANHOOD AMONG OUR YOUNG MEN.
Objectives of the MRI
- To bring them to the saving Grace of Jesus Christ
- To Restore their damaged/dented Identity
- To restore them to the full appreciation of the original integrity of the Eden Man.
- To point them back to a more superior culture of the Kingdom of God.
- To help them deal with the scars of fatherlessness
- To help them deal with domestic scars of Divorce, Separation, Abuses of different nature/rapes/ sodomy etc.
- To prepare them for future responsibilities of Marriage, Fatherhood, Leadership and a fulfilling life of Purpose.
