The Bible recognizes the value of sports as part of God's good gift of creation, and sport can be offered to God as an act of worship. Now risen from the dead Jesus Christ calls us to play to his glory. Romans 12:1-2 urges us to: ‘Offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship’. That means that sport is an area of life that can be offered to God as an act of worship.
Our gist of involvement in sports outreach is motivated by the life of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:22 “… I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some”. Sports is at the heart of the youth to which we are called. We have witnessed God save and transform people in the sports arena. Our desire is to impact the world of sports with the good news of the kingdom of God.
